Glad you are ok.

Theres a Rubicon for sale in town here. I don't know for how much but it'll be way over the 5k you're looking to spend probably.

glad to hear you are ok, when i rolled my ranger i messed up my neck and the pass. roof was smached in, i was glad i had noone with me.

was my truck payed for?

what was the guy driving?

Just so you know..

If you are one that likes to keep reciepts on stuff you've done to your X you can get a WHOLE bunch of money back. A buddy of mine got 11k for a 86 Mazda B2000 standard cab a couple years ago. He kept every single receipt for everything that was done to the truck or added to the truck.

The other insurance company has to pay you for the replacement value of your truck. Its not your fault so you get what it would cost to replace it. I do know my buddy did get a attorney but he only paid the guy a grand for getting him 11k.. I think thats a fair statement..

Also whatever you do make sure you go to the doctor, and if the insurance people ask about your injuries ask them to talk to your lawyer.. You'll get money, you just need to talk to the right people to get it for you..

Man, I don't know what to say. I'm just glad you are ok and that there was no one in the passenger seat. That was a hell of a crash!

I hope everything works out for you.

Rick

And just the other day I was thinking about you mentioning doing Uwharrie awhile back
That really bites man, and I want to come see it! :burnout:

i have a buddy with a 94 x, solid axle swap 4.56 gears and all. This x is pretty awesome, he wants $5 for it if you want to go that route.

I meant $5k, not $5

just really looked at the pics, holly hell man. amazing you weren't seriously injured. Thank God for that. Good luck finding a new truck.

Thanks guys for all your support. I have been really morning over the lose of the explorer. It ment alot to me. The other night i was talking to a friend that has a very modified jeep wrangler and he brought up that the wrangler will not be a good vehicle for me to get due to the profession i'm going into (construction) and i can't really keep any tool in the car. Also since i'm going to App. State next year it would be a really bad car on the highways and really cold in the winter.

I'm glad my friend brought up those details b/c it changed my mind. Now i'm looking at still getting a Jeep but focused on a Cherokee or Grand Cherokee. I think they will fit my needs better and i will still be able to lift it and it have a solid axel under the front.

Thanks again guys for the support you guys are giving me. It really means alot to me.

Before you go over to the "dark side" just remember, Cherokees don't have frames. They have weak steering box mounting locations, and the axles are weak (when you throw bigger tires on)... Besides that they are smaller in the interior, have poor visibility and cramped seating. Can you tell I love Cherokee's :D When I bought my Ex in '93 my decision was between the Ex and the old style Cherokee I didn't get the Cherokee for all the reasons I mentioned above.

EEEK!! Digger, Happy your safe, it sure could have came out ALOT worse, The x aint looking to pretty right now, but it served a good duty, in protecting you. Hope your shoulder feels better soon. Good luck with yoru Next Vehicle man, and make sure you stick around!

how did you get out? were you able to get the door open or did paramedics pull you out?

Ryan

Hmm rick said it all, I thought a jeep cherokee was the only way for me. Then I drove it, and looked it over. Can't say that I would have ever enjoyed it that much, or felt safe in it. Maybe the new heeps (Grand Cherokee) are a little more cozy than the old, but then you lose the blue oval for a chrysler ewww

Just get another Explorer.. You can find 98-01 pretty cheap nowadays. You just have to look around and not give into impulse buying.

Grand Cherokees are bad. They seem to have a really soft suspension and like to sway a lot. I was really thinking about it, but its just easier to keep what I have and throw some money into it. Maybe even pick up a 4 banger is gas goes any higher!

And for whats its worth the '05 Grand Cherokees have IFS.

I considered buying a ZJ (Grand Cherokee) before settling on a 92 YJ Wrangler. Unibody was the deciding factor for me also.

I'm really fortunate to have both the YJ and my X. Now all i gotta do is replace the X's tranny and they'll be both trail ready!!!

Glad to hear that you're ok. That's some nasty damage!

Jim

Just get a cheap, but nice first gen X for $3,000 and put about $2,000 into it. Thats what i would do.

im glad to hear youre okay after that crash...looked real nasty. i know i'd be mourning if that happened to my X.

anyways...on the topic of heeps. my mom got a 2002 grand cherokee after i got the X and she hated it (she wanted the X back, i wasnt trading). i took it wheeling once, and it had nowhere near the flex of the X, and i couldnt even do some trails that my X had gobbled up (before mods). it felt unsafe and wimpy on the inside. puh puh please stay with us...pretty please?
