Ford Explorer XLT 2002
Hi guys,

Was wondering if anyone can shed some lights on whether what I am about to ask can be a direct fit in or require modifications?

My 2002 XLT came with a pioneer player which the original owner replaced, looking at getting the OEM cd stacker from a 2004 expedition part#: 4L1T-18C815-CA.

Also came with the turning nobs Climate Control unit, looking at replacing with a digital one from part#: 1L2F-19D840-AA

Would they fit directly or are there any modifications to be done?

TIA

..If you wish, I can move this to the audio section so it could get viewed and answered from the guys who are better able to answer this question for you, as they may not be cruising your models sub-forum to answer audio questions...:D

Sure mate, much appreciated.

IS THIS ME? :D

Anyway,
The climate controls won't work. They aren't a direct plug and play, it takes a lot of wiring to get them to work. Honestly, not worth it.

The radio won't plug right in either. Find a radio off a car that's the same model and year as yours. And even with that, it may not plug directly in, since there are different radio options each year.

thx mate, spot on answer.

No problem.

Why not put in another aftermarket unit with a 6 CD Changer?
There's wiring for it already since you've got a harness and it would be a great upgrade.
