Disabling Rear Audio Controls??

OK I love my 97 Eddie Bauer with the JBL system. My kids do too with the rear controls, in fact they love it just a little too much. How can I disable the rear controls? I know my 95 Windstar you could press 1 and 3 and it would disable it. Can you even do this?

i think its 3 & 5 in explorers

PUsh 3 &5 at the same time and the headphones on the display should disappear when it is disabled..Jim

Yup, 3 & 5. But I think it only works with it in 'radio' mode.
