Alright guys, sense this is my first post I will give you a brief background and then my questions.
I'm a tech for Cummins for 4 years. Before that I was a tech for a private charter bus company for 6 and half.
Now, me and the girl friend received our awesome Explorer as a gift. Love it.
The other day I pulled a fully loaded trash truck through our parking lot because our forklift and wimpy Dodge 2wd 2500 Cummins couldn't. Hahahaha. Well this got me thinking about transmission, T-case, and both diffs. The engine (4.0l DOHC) oil is changed every 7,500 or less with Royal Purple, timing chain clatter at startup.
I'm going to pull the pan on the trans and change fluid and filter here in the next few days. What are you guys using for transmission fluid? I was going to call NAPA and just get a filter from them, anything special I should ask for? Now, there is zero issue with this transmission. I've only had one issue with this trans when I was coming back from a 2hr trip with a complete pan-to-throttle body Dodge 318 engine in the back. About 3/4 way back I was doing 70mph and the trans flared like it kicked into passing then back down. Did this two times and then I kicked it down to 60mph and it didn't do it again. Hasn't done anything like it sense. Did another 5-6hr trip, half that was with a 429 short block. No issues.
With no really big issues should I be on the lookout for anything, or should I be good?
Same with the T-case, what fluid? I think the connector on the pass through is leaking, is this common?
I know this isn't the right section, but sense your already here, what is everyone using for diff fluid?
I really appreciate any input, thank you.
By the way, this is my daily. It never really pulls anything other then a small hardware store mesh trailer with random junk in it. Then the occasional fully loaded garbage truck, hahaha.

Thank you! Off the top of my head I think it's 140k ish. 2 weeks ago I check the trans and it was red, not burnt, not dirty, not really pink. Pretty much like old trans fluid.
I was hoping you were going to say M1. I bought a bunch on sale and have been using it on my old war wagon (92 Taurus)
