DIY Cheap Mods

Hey guys, i just got rid of some slack on my throttle cable, i never even knew that i wasn't getting to WOT! What a difference now. Anyways, are there any other hints or tips i can do, or really cheap mods i don't know about that can give me some better performance in hp handeling or acceleration???

how far open is WOT anyway? I tried looking at mine, but everyone seems to tell me mines just.. normal. I'd be interested in knowing some cheap and easy mods to do also.

is that wide open? cos it sure was floored when the camera snapped the pic.

That's pretty close, darkfox. Could be open another 3-4 degrees, but pretty close.

There aren't really any other mods that are "free". Well, you could rip all the heavy stuff out of your truck for better performance, that's free

it looks pretty close if not fully open. Just pull on the throttle thing on the side of your throttle body (i don't know what its called, its the lever that your throttle cable attaches to) to see if your plate will open up anymore. if it opens a little more, then you have just a little slack in your cable that you could take up by maybe adding a plastic tie strap or really small hose clamp on the throttle cable behind your gas pedal.

Just searching for a thread named "bored on a sunday" or "I am so bored" or something like that. It had a whole list of things that could be done when bored and don't have a lot of money.

A while back I took out some slack in the throttle cable and it helped. I like a tight gas pedal anyway. Before I did that I could push the gas pedal about 1/4" before it would even start opening the throttle plate. !!! That was pretty bad. I think throttle cables might loosen over time.
