Hey I'm looking to buy some lights for my conferr rack I just bought and the guy at 4wheel parts was saying I should go for hella 4000's. I'm not going to get the hid ones, but do any of you have the normal hella 4000's-if so, how are they?

Any suggestions on what lights I should get for the front of the rack?

I have the hella 4000 hids and they are pretty heavy. They use to vibrate on my brush guard when I hit a bump on the road and I sure the halogen hella 4000's are pretty heavy lamp too. But they are great lights, I recommend them.

I paid around 1200 dollars for both lamps and the heavy duty wiring and switch about 2 years ago. They are probably cheaper now. If you decide to get them remember to also buy the heavy duty wiring harness and switch from hella cause they aren't included with the lights.

Wow that's a lot of cash. I hope they are really bright! Do you have any anti-theft device on those lights? I heard piaa has some sort of key-bolt thing or something.

I have light locks made by piaa/ Mcgard.
The battery is an big improvement from the stock battery if you are powering more lights and a radio system.

will those light locks fit hella 500?

I'm not sure but I think it will fit most lights with a single 10mm bolt. The light locks orginally came from a pair of Piaa 520 lights and they seem to be the same size bolt as the Hella's.

They are like a driving light beam pattern but a little wider.

I got the 4000's. I love them. i think the vibrating is cool. Very useful if someone forgets to turn off their high beams :D

I have the halogen ones. they are mounted on my grill guard. I ordered mine at a offroad shop. I think they were 120 each.
