Yeup, DRILL IT!!!! No digital camera, but my KC switch is mounted dead center on the front of the center console (below the radio bezel). Just mount your switches were you want them and where they look good and are eazy to reach when driving.

Drill and don't look back...

Keep in mind, you drive the #1 selling SUV in the world, so I'm sure you can find a center console piece off of a wrecked X for pretty cheap.

Here, even ganked a pic from another thread of JDraper's setup... mine is similar except for the KC switch you drill a 7/16" hole instead of cutting the rectangular holes for the switches that JDraper used.

My switch is where the orange on is.

here are my switches: Dead Link Removed

How about the rear edge of the overhead console??
That way it is the only switch up there so there is no need to take your eyes off the road to find it. If you do not have a console, you just got another excuse to find one;)

Put them where ever you like the looks of them. As mentioned before you can always find a replacement part if you want to change it later or sell or whatever.

Hmm... you could try here if you have the kleenex console  AND no drilling needed

If you have an aftermarket radio, put them in the dash kit, I plan on putting my switches in the slot above the radio.

Tim

Without drilling I put mine on the bottom next to the hood release thingy. If you have one of those switches that lights up, you might want to change it or paint it because at night they light so bright its distracting.

I have my switch mounted on the left side of the steering wheel, under the rear defrost and rear windshield wiper switches. It's convenient and yet non-noticeable.

(I sound like I should be in an infomercial  )

I didn't want to run another set of wires for my fog lights, so I got a Pilot remote system. It can handle 100 watt lights and has a built in relay to boot.

My setup (pics now :D)

They have a blue, green, and red LED (from left to right)

And yes (Section you smart ass), my floor mats don't match. Kraco discontinued the driver's side one, so I settled for Wal-Marts finest on the passenger's side (3 months later)

HokieBert do you have any info on those switches? Name or link to them online by chance? I'm thinking of doing something similar and it looks like those switches would work out perfect.

Thanks

I let my fog switch hang down from the bottom of my steering column.

Yeah, the center one came with my KC Slim Lights, but the left and right ones I just got at Auto Zone. Looks like KC and Auto Zone have the same supplier. They have them separate from the rest of the fuses and stuff, usually I find them in the ricer supply aisle. They ain't cheap, like $6 each, but they look cool and have a nice little LED in them. The LED's are pretty bright.

I like em because they aren't a big honkin' red button. They aren't an eye sore, and you really don't notice them until you need em.

update. i re did my switches. still in the ash tray but now they are 3/8" round switches with a separate green indicator light. i did it myself...sorry no pic yet
