On the knob where you turn your lights on, Turn the knob to the left. Thats how Its done on my 2002 Ford explorer. I never have to touch the lights switch ever!

thanks I will try that out here in a little bit

that was a fast response

I had them on my 02 but now i dont with my 05.....i love the DRLs....

I noticed that on my 02, i could turn the knob to the left while my 05 i cant. now i have to remember to turn the lights off before i leave because i get that loud ringing alarm letting me know i left the lights on. i bet it costs a lots to change my so i will have it on my 05, so i will just havee to make due without.

You guys are talking about the autolamps, not DRLs. DRLs are a low-powered light that is on while driving in the daytime, but goes to a full-powered beam once it gets dark out.

Canada requires DRLs, but the US does not. I know there's a way to get them going on a US spec Explorer, but haven't really investigated it that much. Probably involves adding a relay and/or DRL module to the system.

2002sport, I think that you might be on the wrong part of the board, since you say that you have a "Sport Premium".

Do you have a 2-door Explorer? If so, you'll want to post this question on the 1995-2001 forums -- a 2002 2-door is based on the 2nd generation X.

If you do have a 4-door Explorer, then disregard this.

its got the new body style?????? whats the difference between the 2nd and 3rd generations

The 2001-2004 Sports have the same chassis and everything (as far as I know) as a second generation Sport ('95-'00). The only differences are in the body styles, that's all. Since the '02 Sport for all intensive purposes is similar to the 2nd gen ones, this question should have gone in that forum but it's a simple mistake that isn't too big of a deal.

oops....:p:

your right....lol i got  and thought that was what he meant. i should say I LOVE THE AUTO-LAMPs......:D

My 02 explorer xlt 4 door when I put auto lights on which is all the way to the left all my lights are on during the daytime every day, headlights side markers taillights, I could swear they never use to do that, if they are suppose to that kinda defeats the purpose of auto lamps.....any tips appreciated.
