I bought it used and did not get the remotes. How can I tell if the truck has the factory keyless entry?

Do you have the touchpad on the driver door? Chances are if your seller did not give you any remotes, it did not come with them. If you really want keyless entry though, there are several companies which provide services for fairly cheap. On my old car, I had one installed that was made by Viper. Plus you get an alarm too.

It does not have the door keypad. I read on a post here to look for a grey box near the jack? Is that the keyless module/reciever?

On my 97, I'm pretty sure if you did have a reciever for it, it would be under the hood. I dont know a whole lot about electrical systems, maybe someone else can help you find out where the receiver would be if you did have one.

Bump, Can anyone help. Where is the reciever?

If you have it, it is in the back in the little compartment above the wheel well. I'm not sure if that is only there if you have the keypad though. I have remotes for mine, but not the keypad on the door. If I remember, I'll try and look to see if I have the module in the back tonight.

My mistake~ dont really know too much about the xls, just thought i'd try to help:confused:

I have a '00 XLS, and mine has keyless entry. I can't remember if it was part of the "Convenience Package" or is it's std? If someone has a '99 brochure, you'd be able to find out. You can get an aftermarket system put in for around $120.
