Does the amp need to be on?

Ok, today I got 4 new kicker speekers and 1 amp. Does the amp always need to be on for me to run the speakers. I believe it does but I am just checking because at 7 in the morning, I do not always want my music real loud. By speakers, I mean door and side speakers, not subs.

Yes. You will need the amp on for the speakers to produce sound.
