yeah... it should. Dash lights go out all the time on Explorers. @#$$@#

thanks for the info. the rear wiper stopped working at around the same time i noticed the lights werent working. I checked the fuses and the wire attached to the knob, all is ok there. Any other suggestions?

don't know whats wrong with it.... but it should be lit... my moms 96 has a knob to the right of the radio that lights with the headlights and other dashlights.....

I had my light go out on my whiper switch too. I had went to ford to buy the light but they dont sell them seperatly. They only sell the entire switch. I wound up buying mine from fordparts.com because it was about $12.00 cheaper. I think it had cost about $27.00 total.

is the power mirror switch suppose to be lit?

Yeah, my list of lights out is as follows
door keypad
power mirror
headlight switch
So far I can live with these....

I have heard from others
Instrument cluster lights
Radio display
Rear Wiper control
Power window switch lights
AC / Heat control lights...

The power mirror switch isn't lighted.

Does the headlight switch light suppose to be lit on the 2K? I could've sworn that it was lit at one time...is it a fuse or am I'm looking at light replacement?

It should be lit at all times. They burn out all the freakin' time.

Speaking of lights..

How the heck do I change one of the cruise control
lights on the steering wheel ??

Thanks

I don't think Ford sells lights separately for the cruise controls. However, you can go to a salvage yard and take apart the cruise units and snag the lights. I did this for some members a year or so ago when I made a salvage yard run for parts. I'd do it again this year but I'm at school and unsure when I will be home to get to the local salvage yard.

I've never had an interior light go out. I had no idea it was such a problem

Your '94 doesn't have all the lights us '95+ have.

Only light out is the headlight switch. Heh, funny, the only one not to work, is the one controlling the power for the lights ;) I don't really need all the lights in the cab anyway. Lights burning out on the inside doesn't affect me, it's the outside lights I don't want going out.

So how do you change out the headlight switch light?
If it's a headache I won't worry about it...

The headlight switch light is kind of a pain. you have to remove the radio bezel, and lower knee bolster to get the cluster bezel off.

On another note in the same genre, how do you replace the overhead map lights on my 95? I've pulled the cover off but can't figure out how to remove the bulb and it's awfuly dark with half working.

The cruise control lights are easy, go ask for cuise lights for a 97 Contour, they are a little longer and will warm the housing up more than the stock bulbs but are cheaper and better than going to the 'yard to get one that may or may not work (although, big pockets......) ;) Not that I would recomend any five finger discounts.
