I am brand new to this (or any) forum. So bear with me if I seem a little 'clumsy' My question is: does anyone know the type/number for a dome/map light bulb on my '95 explorer XLT? Thanks much

Upgraded front courtesy light. Only ONE lit Sylvania Zevo 168 shown in pic. Six is blinding. LOL

Amazing upgrade, I've since replaced ALL with Zevo 168's. (Two Courtesy (912) and Four Map)

It takes two 912 bulbs, but the 912 is not very bright. Also, the front map light (if that's the location you're asking about) has a funky copper contact ribbon that is easily damaged. Be very careful not to tear it when changing the front bulbs.

Hawaii I have seen the zevo mentioned here a couple times recently. I have a question...is zevo the answer to all the flickering LEDs I have been getting from Amazon?

^ From what I've read, the flickering and short life seems to be frequent with the "bargain" no name LED lamps sold on eBay, Amazon, etc. Honestly don't know the causes, just seems to happen more often with high power exterior lamps. Probably wouldn't hurt to search the lighting forums such as Candlepower, etc., for info, and read what the real light bulb tweaks have to say. Must say I've read very few negatives about Sylvania/Ostram and Philips LED products. GL

Have you ever noticed that when a vehicle with LED running lights is shown on TV the lights flicker/wink like crazy? I wonder why this happens on recordings, but is not visible when you see the lights in person? I had some cheap LED's in my tag lights that flickered. I ended up removing them.

Interesting Koda, no idea what causes flickering LED's on TV's. Was this seen on "ancient" CRT or flat panel TV's?

My only regret is not upgrading weak, yellow incandescents earlier, since prices have come down so much on name brands. Still made in China though. LOL

I see this often on my fairly new flat screen TV. I see it when I watch almost any airing of Motor Trend, but I also see it in some car commercials. I figure it might have something to do with the way digital TV's "paint" the screen.

The flickering on television is caused by the fps of the camera not being able to keep up with the hertz of the LED. For example the camera may shoot at 24 fps, so it won't be synced with the 30 hz of the LED.
