Door ajar issue on my 2002 Explorer.

My door ajar light keeps coming on while driving, And all doors are shut completely. At night if you shut the door the mirrors lights and interior lights still stay on. The only way to make them go out is to flip the dimmer switch.
Anyone know how to fix this?

Mine was caused by the rear liftgate not closing all the way because the previous owner backed into something and bent the metal just enough so that it wouldn't close right. But mine was always on, never intermittent.

This one is super easy (and cheap) to fix. Get a can of WD-40 and spray it liberally into the door latch of each door (the part that latches the door shut when it's closed). Just literally hose it down in there with WD-40, open and close your doors a few times, and it should be fixed.

I had the same problem about 10k mikes ago. The WD40 method worked like a charm for me.
