Door Ajar Issue

I have an issue when my passenger door is CLOSED the Door Ajar light comes on, and my dome light will stay on until i put it into Drive and drive a few feet or so..It will shut off while the door is open though..

I am wondering if this is the part I need to fix it.

Yes, it is most likely that switch. You can try spraying a little WD-40 down into the door latch and it may resolve the issue for a short time.
