I have poured through most of the past posts regarding this issue and am running out of options. Most times it appears that broken wires are the culprit, or stuck door jam switches. Mine is an 03 Explorer Sport 2 door model. I have the truck tore apart now and have accessed all five switches, one in each door, and the 3 in the lift gate. I have check the continuity from each switch ground, the doors have the single wire switches, and the lift gate had the 2 wire plugs back to the battery negative post cable. All show good continuity. The send wires, driver door yellow/black, passenger door tan/red, and the leads to the 3 hatch switches white/violet also show good continuity from each switch plug back to the general electronics module (GEM). I have jumped all the switch plugs to indicate closed doors and it acts the same. I have a new dimmer switch on order, as the old one would have the interior light flicker on and off when you moved the switch wheel side to side. My dash door ajar light stays on, along with my overhead and puddle lights in the rear mirrors. Anyone have any other ideas? Could the GEM module have gone south? If maybe, would a used replacement of the same part number work ok? Thanks.
