Door Ajar

I did a search and found next to nothing on the subject. What actually make the "door ajar" work? I'm having trouble with mine and can't find any place to lube or check for a broken wire. Thanks in advance...."pear"

The switches are built into the latches on the doors.

i am haveing a similar problem with my 02 EB

every now and then (3-4 times/year) the computer keeps saying door ajar, toggles the locks, toggles the interior light, and then finally (sometimes quickly, one time after about 20min) corrects to normal

don't have any idea what is going on - will let you know if i find out

have you heard anything?

btw - you have any trouble with misfires on your steering wheel audio controls?

Same problem here and it was the tail gate. Spray some WD40 into the latch and it should go away. Not the split section but the bottom gate.

Once you figure out which latch, he is correct, a little WD40 and a few open and closes should alleviate the door ajar problem. The sensor for those is built into the latches themselves and apparently if the latch doesn't fully go down when closed, it still thinks the door is open.
