I got the dash and kick under steering torn apart. where is that beeper box at. i cannot see it under there. Its making noise but I just can't put my hands on it. its a 96 xls

The chime is part of the generic electronic module. This module can't really be disconnected without affecting other systems. It's located to the left of the radio. You need to remove the radio to get to it.

you mean the chime that goes off when you have the keys in the ignition and the door open?

i had the same problem with my 99 with the warning buzzer going off. . on my 99 if you take the radio out and look up toward the top of the dash on your left you will see the black box with several diff connections going into it. . .(now this is on my 99 eddie bauer) the top plug has a tan/yellow wire close to the top. . .that is the wire that makes the buzzer work. . i clipped that wire and whalla. . no more buzzer!!
