On my '91 the door chime is very faint, you have to strain to hear it. When I got my '92 its loud as hell, takes some gettin used to.
My question is, what and where is the thing that makes the noise? Just a curiosity question, I kinda like not having to listen to it, maybe I will disconnect the other. Thx!

its alittle black button on the door next to the hinge. i just cut the wires to it.

Those are the door triggers, I have my alarms wired into those, they also turn off and on the lights. What is the source of the noise? Thx.

no one knows? they are just there. try and find the speaker or chime thing its impossible.

According to my manual its a box behind the instrument panel on the instrument panel reinforcement, the diagrams arent very good though. It only has one wiring connecter with 7 pins.

if i remember right its on the drivers side bye your right leg its a little black box closer up to wards the sigeret lighter. it should be ok to find if you look for it when its going off. place your hand hon it and if it vibretes a bit when its rining thats it. you know you will find. than gest un plus the wiering harnes.
