Does it continue with the door closed?

If so, there is a module connected and slightly below the ignition switch on the steering column. It may be blue. That module may be your problem.

no it cuts off but i would just like to be able to have my door open with the radio on and not hear that annoying chime

Ah.

Other than deactivating your door ajar sensors I dunno what you can do. You'd lose your automatic dome light, too. I don't know if you can deactivate the little beeping speaker.

yea i did a search and supposedly there a speaker thang under the dash somewhere that does all the beeping and your supposed to be able to unplug it "if you can find it" so i think im going to try that
thanks tho

A couple of things you can do. I'm in the same boat. I like to listen to the radio with the doors open.

*Wire the radio so you don't have to have the key in the ignition.

*Open the doors and use a screwdriver to lock the latch in the door. Just remember to "unlatch" the door before you close it.

*Put a switch on the door ajar circut so you can override the door ajar switches.

That "buzzer" is either the GEM or the chime module. I foget which one. If you pull the radio bezel you can get to it. If you disconnect it then alot of things wont work right.

I like the idea just to put a switch in the door ajar circuit.

n/m

The connector, once unplugged, solves all your problems, no rewiring is needed...just stick you head down there while it is dinging, and you should see it....
