Door keypad not lighting/working

For one, the pad area is hard to locate when it is sitting in the garage. But today, it won't light up or work. Looking like I'll be calling to schedule a service appointment. Not the end of the world but inconvenient when I keep it locked in order to have the mirrors retracted. It's a bit of a squeeze pulling my F150 in next to it. I went to unlock it earlier and at first I thought I was just not finding the area for the numbers. But nope. No matter where I touched the B pillar it wouldn't light up. Grrrrr

I'd much prefer exposed numbers like the F150's.
Don't know if this will work for you, but if you have ford pass see if you're in battery saver mode. Even if you're not, I would try this simple remedy that worked for me.
Turn on accessory mode, make sure your lights are on and hit your high beam signal arm 5 times then pump the brake 3 times and watch for the battery icon on the dash to flash. Done! This resets the BCM.

Welcome to the Forum.
FYI, the member you quoted was last active here on October 2, 2022, so may not be following any longer. It seems that his vehicle was in 'Deep Sleep' mode. Once it 'woke' up the keypad worked again. Thanks for your info about the BCM reset.

Fyi folks, the Ford Pass App won't work if it's in battery saver mode.... Just happened to us.

We always leave the keys in the car and use the app or door pad to unlock.

Got back from vacation for 7 days and door pad won't light up. I knew the remote features had been disabled. I expected that. But the door pad?

With the 5th gen your locked in key would disable itself after a stated time frame. I don't know if the 6th gen does the same. I was not able to find anything on it in the manual. If not, the key locked inside will continue to be in communications with the vehicle resulting in battery drain.

My 2020 ST has a physical key on the top of the key fob that opens the driver's door, then if the fob battery is dead the fob can be placed in a holder inside the center console which allows the car to start. Did they get rid of all of that? It would seem stupid to not have a way to open the car if the car battery is dead. How would you charge the battery?
