simple quick question: the keypad on my door wore out, got a new one from the junkyard today, so if i swap out the keypad, the code does not change, right?

How can I find out what my code is? I just baught my 97 X a couple months ago and there was no info for the keypad..

There is an electronic control box (not sure what it does) inside the liner of the rear cargo section above the left rear tire and ahead of where the jack is stored. The door code should be stamped on this unit. It should have 5 digits.
You might be able to see the numbers from the jack storage opening, or you might have to partially remove the interior trim panel.

i could see mine fairly clearly just using a flashlight, but some people have said that using a little mirror works too if you cant see it

Im pulling that panel pretty soon anyway to install an amp there, so I'll check it out when I have it apart. I appreciate the input!
