I see you looking, but i don't see you typing:D

C'mon tell me you don't like it, other wise i'll end up doing it. :)

here's another pic:

P.S.- I won't use that many wrinkles when i actually do it and lock it on.

how did you do that, looks very creative/original. haven't seen anything like that with an x

Hmm...I'm not really sure that I like it. It looks kind of weird not fitting tight. Almost cheap looking. Don't want to rain on your parade though. If you like it, go for it!

Im not liking it to much either. I like mine nice and tight.;)

does not look right on an explorer. I personally dont care for it. What matters is if you like it or not though. If you dig it, go 4 it.

well, i still haven't gotten my heat gun out of the closet and smoothed the top out. my plan was only to have a little wrinkle in it and have the bottom very tight so it pulled down. I figured if i wrapped it and took a pic it would give you guys an idea of what i was thinking.

I appreciate the responses. based on overall opinion i will decide what to do. I think if i finished it it wouldn't look that bad but time is scarce here so i'm going for majority vote before i dedicate a night to getting one perfect.

as far as my stock piece goes, it was cracking from the heat so if i don't do the wrinkle cut, i'm going to just pad behind it (like your supposed to) and smooth it out.

Keep 'em coming, and thanks for the opinions!

To be honest I don't like it at all. Looks kind of unfinished and sort of cheap. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I don't like it on the lexus either for the same reasons. How about nice timber cappings? Just a thought. All the best.

Looks like poop! :fart:

no one seems to like it but i think it will look nice when it's done if i understand what your saying.

Don't forget to post a pic when you're finally done with it. That pic doesn't really convince me either. I can't wait for the outcome!!

I like it. But if you didn't know if was to be that way some people would frown at it. Looks well, for lack of a better word "Loose". I know it should look that way. And I like it. But do you understand what I am saying about others.

"you mean your door is supposed to look like an old man's b@!!s"
lol

Yeah, I know the look trying to be achieved, but it just doesn't belong on an Explorer's door I suppose.

Like mohog says, in an old man's pants is where you're going to find something that looks like that.

The thing is, the wrinkles need to be uniform, if that makes sense. The Lexus has wrinkled leather, but the wrinkles are uniform and it looks nice and neat. It doesn't look like someone just threw a piece of leather up and called it a day. :p

trust me, it would look far from it if i decided to do it.

I'm not saying that's what you did, but I'm saying you have to do more than that to achieve good results.

yea, it looks clean and all but.. thats just not my thang, creative mod tho
