Hey guys I currently drive an 2001 Ford Explorer Sport. I have noticed that when I have all my windows open and even the 2 rear windows open. I have been noticing my explorer is making like a rattling noise on the driver side it sounds like it coming from the front it is driving me nuts. I dunno if my something on my door is loose or what. But when I drive it constatly rattles and it sounds like something is breaking. I was wondering If I should take it in to ford to check it out or what. But even when I close the driver side door it makes the rattle noise to when I shut it. So I was wondering what should I do to fix this problem.

Thanks

Sam

My driver's door had a rattle which turned out to be some wire harness connector had vibrated loose and was bouncing around. I removed the door trim panel and secured the connector...

BTW you may want to ask the moderator of this forum to move your topic to a more applicable forum as this thread isn't 911 emergency.

I agreed with Deroacha something is loose in the door panel. You'll need to remove and sand start shaking parts inside. It could either be loose wires or bolt or screw came loose on the door handle or the foam damner where the rods go got loose and the rods just banging against the metal door.

alright thanx guys I keep that in mind

Check the (rubber) window tracks inside the bottom part of the door. My problem was the bolt holding the window track to the door would keep loosing up, causing the bracket to vibrate. After 180k miles All that vibration caused the bolt hole to crack/flake apart, and the window track unwelded itself from the bracket. So every time i shut one of my doors with the window all the way down i can hear the window bouncing around inside (since it isnt being held from moving back and forth, while 'all the way down'). It was one of those things i could only fix temporarly, because i didnt know anyone with a welder. So now i have...

:fire: ...Even more noise!!
