Has anyone ever removed the window or the weatherstripping on a 2nd gen explorer/mountaineer. I'm in the process of repainting my truck and this is about the only thing I can't figure out without taking it all apart. Which I'd like not to do lol. I Really don't want to tape the weatherstripping, I'd rather just remove it but I'm not sure if the whole moulding is built in with the window. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

LOL! That makes me feel a lot better. My biggest problem is the doors are off the truck right now and the window is rolled down about 50%. Should I roll them all the way down to make it easier getting the stripping out? Just as a clarification I'm talking about the big rubber guy that lines the entire window..

Thanks!

yeah roll it all the way down

you can just get some jumper wires and put them directly to the window motor

you are quite welcome

well

second guessing my self right here
The rubber windoe track pulls out but after that the channel is pop rivited on.

1/8th inch drill bit and an 11mm nut and it is off and in your hands.
