Door Wiring Harnesses

Ive ben toying with the idea of making half doors, or tube doors but wonder how i will be able to disconnect the wires so i can still use my regular doors with power everything. I was thinking of finding a wiring harness with the right amount of connections and splicing them together right inbetween the door and body, where the rubber shroud is now. I know they do have connectors right inside but the drivers side and pass side are *****es to get to, near impossible with the dash on. The rear doors are easy, right inside the pillar so I wouldnt mess with them. Issues this might arouse? Only things I can think of is if I will be able to seal them good (I like to play in mud) and if the door would shut right.

If you go this route, get a good connector. I recommend Weatherpacks because of their excellent sealing capability. I've seen them from 1 to 6 pins. If you need more than 6, you can always use 2 connectors. Just don't use the same two, or you might get them mixed up.

this is the same problem that i'm trying to figure out too. its not going to be a prob to build the doors its just that i'm need to put the stock doors back on.
