I was driving one day and slowed to turn and upon acceleration put-put like i was out of gas and died, even though i had 1/4 tank. I started it back up in park hit the gas and could rev it with no problems. I put it gear and it would just shutter and die same with R, 2, 1 shutter and die. I tried 4 high nothing same thing... 4 low it crawled on the 3 blocks back home.
Things I have tried and/or fixed:
New intake, exhaust, fuel injector, valve cover gaskets
New tranny filter and fluid and even a tube of "dr tanny"
Opened up rear end and gears in tack replaced oil and gasket (it leaked anyway) but it had enough fluid that seem fine clean no particals or anything.
Transmission was rebuilt about 30-40k ago has 188k
Any ideas anyone I am open to anything.

Are you saying it's stuck in 4LOW? Or can you put it into others but it just stalls?

If it revs, but won't run under load I would suspect a bad fuel pump.

its not stuck in 4low it can move between 2wd 4hi 4low it just dies out in gear when you go up a slight incline or hit the gas in 2wd 4 hi but not in 4low.

Fuel pump wow now that one that slipped my mind, but in park or neutral you can hit gas and it works??? Although I have had problems over the last year that first thing in the mornings it be a pain to warm up. there was no go start the car and run back inside on cold mornings it would sputter. So there where many cold mornings sitting in a cold car.

I had a pump go out like that once. It would rev fine, but drove like it had 5hp. Too much throttle, and the pump couldn't keep up.

i'll give that a look this weekend thanks will let you know.
