Just bought a Sport Trac and it already has a superlift kit. I have been having problems with the front drive shaft. The cv boot ripped and ruined the cv joint. I replaced it with a new one and ripped as well. Is the problem that I need a longer drive shaft? Thanks guys

Yes. The stock one doesn't last long with the Superlift. They sell a replacement that works. I guess the previous owner ignored the warnings from Superlift about that.

I'd save yourself some money and buy a front drive shaft from a TTB ranger (97-older) or maybe a TTB Explorer (1st gen). I measure a Superlift shaft and a Ranger Shaft and they are the same lengths collapsed and extended.

does the ranger or explorer drive shaft have the correct mount for the pinion on the transfer case. (Does it match up to where the cv joint would normally go)
If not how do I fix this problem. Thanks for the help.

You'll have to change that. or find a drive shaft out of a v8 AWD model, that may work, i just happen to have a 1254 from 95 Ranger lol so i already have the flange to fit the 97 ranger shaft.

heres what it looks like. not a picture of mine BTW

heres a thread about a adapter for the cv flange but im not sure if the awd unit is the same as a part time unit flange.

this is where the adapter came from.
