power window goes down a bit then slow as ever, hit the button again, and then it picks up speed and goes the rest of the way down automatic. seems the window has tilted a bit in the track?

Does anyone have any breakdown pics of door/window tracks, regulator

a couple of days ago this was fine, hit the button, window went all the way down automatic. so either something is loose now or broke

only had this unit a couple weeks so far

grease up the track!!

I've had the same problem with my 96 EB. Drivers window would go down really slowly. If I tried the auto down function, I'd hear the relay click and the window would stop. if I held it down, the window would crawl down really slowly until about 1/2 way, then it would pick up speed. Rolling the window up was fine.

I took the door panel off and put some white grease into the track, it was pretty gummed up. Maybe this could help your problem. BE CAREFUL, the mechanism that moves the window up and down works like a scissor lift, if you get your hand or finger in there, its gonna get severed.

If you can rock the window back and forth, the bushings are gone or the epoxy holding the back lower edge of the glass in the assembly has let go. Check that before you grease it all up, I'd bet 99% on teh bushings/mechanicals vs. grease.

I have the same problem. Doesn't really bother me though.
I've just been to lazy to yank the panel off and take a look.

Push the button window goes down real slow.
Summer time, 8 outa 10 times it operates normal.
Winter/colder temps, slow as a snail.
Always goes up faster than it goes down.(like my women)

I figured it is a lube or adjustment problem. It's the thought of taking that door panel off that keeps me from dealing with it.
Just never in the mood to be bothered with it.

The door panel is easy! Two screws, pry a corner away on the bottom, then work the christmas tree pushpins out and pull it off... The power window switch panel pushes through the back of the panel if you want to remove it, it just slides through. Don't let the panel hold you back- it's too simple! :)

I know it's not a big deal. I'm just not motivated.
I'll procrastinate until the damn window gets stuck all the way down on the coldest and wettest day of the year.

:D

I hear that... Been there, own the T-Shirt! :)
