Driver side door can't be opened !

From last weekend, the driver side door can't be opened from inside or outside. The remote key unlock doesn't work and the physical key doesn't work either. I think that something is stuck inside the door. When I hit unlock on the remote or the botton on the door panel, I feel that the little stick tries to come up but it can't. If I hold it and press lock button, it actually slip down from my finger.

I had to get on and off of the truck from the passenger door now.

Is there a way for me to remove the door panel so that I can take a look inside?

By the way, it is 98 EB 5L V8 AWD if it matters.

this happened to me a few years back (but mine is a 2 door). i was able to pull the panel back far enough to get my arm in there and open the door. you might have to remove the drivers seat as well how ever. more then likely, the latch inside the door is broken.

I will try it this weekend. Thank you for giving me the direction. If I know that someone had done that before I am more confident.

its not fun, or easy, but it can be done. you wont be able to take the panel off completely, but you will be able to get your arm in there.
