Driver side passenger door want open

can someone help me. my driver side passenger door want open from the endside or outside, for a while the door would open only from the outside but now it want open at all and i have noticed that the lock is not disengaging when the doors are unlocked. can anyone help.

I've got the same problem... Someone on here told me to replace the inside and outside door handles.... I can get mines to open from the outside, but the inside woulden't so I swtiched the front inside door handle with the rear one and it opens fine now... Lock still doesnt work but... Atleast you could get out.... As far as the outside handle I was playing with the lock/unlock switch one day and it opened and has opened since -shrug-

There is a keeper spring that helps the door unlock, it sounds like it has either came loose inside the latch assy or has broken. Mine did the same thing, fortunately I took the interior door panel off in anticipation that I was going to get locked in when mine started to act-up and I was able to fix it with a spring in an alternate location.

you can remove the interior door panel with the door closed, I have never done it but I understand it is a bear to do.

look at this thread. It pertains to the drivers side lock but it will probably work for the passenger side also.
