This is killing me...

My driver side window goes down with no problem but its a pain to get it to come back up... sometimes i have to smack the door a little and press the button to make it come up... what could be the issue?

btw - 01 sport trac

what are the steps to disassemble the door panel?

IM having the same problem i just bought my truck 2 days ago!!!

haven't seen this problem yet, but could guess:

- bad connection (power/ground) coming into door, this would mean not enough power to push the window up.

- grease caking up in the window regulator assembly, more effort required to push window up

- mis aligned regulator assembly, more effort required....

- switch contacts corroded/ burned (or maybe it's a relay), not enough power to the motor

- motor failing

It could be the switch, but if it happens when you open/close the door there could be a frayed wire in the wire harness between the door and the body.

Pull the plastic part off from the door handle. Also there I think 4 bolts on the bottom of the door and a couple under the arm rest. The rest is plastic fastners. Be carefull. dont force it to much. also you will have to disconnect the wires for the windows and doorlocks. the one for the power mirrors of you got em.
