Hey all!

Recently noticed the window needs a bit of help when I want to it go down. Basically I have to put a finger on it it help it open (using the lightest of effort), this happens from closed, to about half way. Going up, there’s no problem.

When it rains, I don’t need to do this. So I’m wondering if the trim (or whatever the technical term is) needs to be replaced. Could it be gripping the window somehow that making it harder to function?

If this is the case, can this piece be replaced? The no patients part of me wants to WD-40 it, but the logical part says that will just make the glass nasty.

Thanks!

Use a little silicon spray, not WD-40, in the window channel. Works like a charm.

i also used it when i removed the door card on the regulator etc and all the moving parts, and locks too! keeps moisture out and keeps the windows rolling up nicely!

In addition to lubing the track, keep in mind that a common fault on our vehicles is that the wires in the door hinge boot fray apart from opening and closing the door. The worse they get, the more resistance there is that reduces current to the motor, and also heats up that section of wire so it gets worse, faster still.

Take off the door panel, and grease the window track. Solved my window binding...
