Phil, you make it sound like we're isolated from civilization in Hawaii. We can get almost anything here for a price.

That excludes MANY eBay sellers that refuse to ship to Alaska or Hawaii despite USPS flat rate pricing being the same. LOL

Yeah, price is the dirty word there in Hawaii. If you can get it, the transportation is not cool/cheap.

BTW, how is it there now, has the volcano calmed down, back to kind of normal?

Don, Kilauea activity has been quiet since early August, but not before destroying more than 700 homes. Nothing close to the horrific Paradise fires in Northern California that took many lives and destroyed the city, but at least people here had warning.

I'm glad it's subsided, it's sad the big disasters we see somewhat regularly. The California fires are huge most years lately, I hope they make better plans for forest management in the future. We had a big fire two years ago that cooked a large part of the mountain area around here, the city of Gatlinburg was devastated. The public fire warning system wasn't completely developed right, so cell phone warnings were slow, late, or didn't happen at all. This fire was started by one or two teenagers, who were caught later. We do the best we can, and hope to do better next time.
