I have a 93XLT. Recently my door lock has not been working at all. It seems that there is somekind of disconnect between the actual locking mechanism, the keylock, and the black button you push to lock from the inside. The door is stuck in the unlocked position and I don't know what to do. I'm pretty sure that the solution is going to involve me removing the door panel, I just need some guidance. Could someone give me somekind of step by step procedue to walk through to fix my lock? Thanks, I appreciate it.

what is it doing or not doing to be more exact?does it work manually?linkage unhooked maybe?

I took of my door panel a few days ago. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. It had two screws by the handle and one in the upper right. Forgot to say that the panel itself just popped off with little force. I'm having problems with my electric windows.

do your door locks work ok from the passenger side?

Has anyone EXPERIMENTED with their switches on these 1st GEN vehicles??

I mean the switches.........passenger side and driver side, door locks look exactly like the window up/down activation switches..........EXCEPT for the plastic pin that orients the switch with the female plug in section.

So, I'm wondering: IF ONE WERE TO CUT OFF THE PLASTIC PIN......Could the same switch be used for all the applications (doors locks and windows)???

Or maybe just door switches, right to left, vis versa.

I checked the wire diagram I had but, it didn't show the inner workings of the switches.

Aloha, Mark

thanks

It doesn't work at all. I think more than likely it's unhooked. Gonna take another look at it tonight. I'll post something again if i can't figure it out
