Hey Everyone,
About 3 weeks ago the drivers side door unlock button has stopped working on my 99 Explorer sport. It will lock the doors but not unlock any. Also the passenger door and rear buttons work perfectly fine.

Could anyone tell me what the problem is?

Thanks!

likely broken wire in the door post going into the cabin.... lots of posts on wiring issues thru the door "conduit" area.... you will be swearing as you dig thru and work in the confined space... but odds are you will also find a few other wires that are about to go also. Good luck.

+1 on this (especially the swearing part!) Do a good repair job on the broken wire the first time - add extra wire, solder, use shrink tubing. I didn't and now have to go in again. I may remove the entire blankety-blank door just to get enought room to work.

Thanks guys, found the culprit wire! and fixed several that looked like they could go at any time.

Everything is working now:)

this is on my list as well. only the drivers door lock button does not work, everything else is fine.
