Anyone had there driveside window go only part of the way down and you have to push the buttom again to get it to go the rest of the way? Is that going to be the motor or control switch on the door?

When it stops, is the electric still going? or do you have to go back up, then go back down?

the rest of the care has power. I just push the down button again and it goes. Its just annoying that it will not always go down the whole way

My 2000 Mountaineer started doing this a few months ago. I have no idea why (new regulator and motor). It doesn't bother me much, as I don't like the AUTO-DN function anyway.

sometimes the cable stretches out a bit and sometimes the plastic dots crumble. I cant remember if thats for the 1at gen or 2nd or not.

I was just wondering whether the power stops or its a friction or other type of stop.

Hey, my 01' Sports Trac was a having also having window problems on the drivers side but it ended up being the arms were bent and it would get stuck. Now its completely screwed and i have to buy the whole unit to replace the old one.

My 2000 Mountaineer driver's window had pretty much torn up it's window regulator. After I replaced the regulator with a new one is when I noticed the auto-down issue (and my door keypad had also stopped working). There's an auto-down relay somewhere and I assume it got a bit fried and is now cutting out too early. As far as the door keypad, I guess the bend window regulator pulled a wire.

As I recall, there are a gang of relays (3?) located inside the interior, on the fire wall just above the gas pedal. One of them is the "one touch down" relay.

its useless and annoying, the auto down feature is something you can do without. I wish The rear window could be controllable like a regular window but you only have 3 positions. Opened, closed and vent
