Now If i take those 6 bolts off that connects the drive shaft to the transfer case will the whole thing come out or just the shaft? Whats in that section between the bolts and the transfer case?

Just took the front driveshaft off my 97 sport, just take out the 6 bolts to remove the driveshaft, I've driven mine for about 1000 miles with no problems... are you having a cv joint problem?

Well its making a grinding/moaning type noise right under my feet when I kinda get on the gas hard. If I go at about 2000 rpm it really makes no noise. Does that whole piece come out or will there still be that thing connected to the transfer case?

On mine the cv boot had obviously been cracked (when I bought it) and the grease had come out, ruining my cv joint, and also making a horrible clunking/clattering sound at all speeds.:thumbdwn: When you take out the six bolts the cv joint/driveshaft assembly will come out as one piece, leaving you with the mating surface for the front driveshaft showing.

If you're looking to remove the whole driveshaft to troubleshoot the noise just remove the u-joint straps on the front differential... it's a t-30 torx I think, and the six bolts at the t-case, I think they are 8mm or 10mm.

I hope the cv joint isn't your problem, I'm pretty sure that you have to buy a complete driveshaft,:thumbdwn: but I'm not completely sure. I'm trying to find a good used one now.

mine was doing that and it turned out i was low on fluid in my transfer case, have you checked your fluid levels on your tcase and front diff?
