ok the other day me and my friends were up in rhode island by the beach and there was this trail to off road on. i figured what the hell, might as well try it out. i saw a jeep go in right before i did and figured my truck could handle it. it was a good offroad trail until we got near the beach. there was this huge puddle in the middle of the trail. it didnt look too bad, so i just plowed right through it. unfortunatly, i wasnt thinking of the consequences and soon realized that it was all salt water, after i went through. i went pretty fast through it to make sure i didn't get stuck and salt water sprayed everywhere! in the engine, all over the car, on the brakes, everywhere under the car. my brakes were sticking and there was salt water all over the engine. the serpentine belt setup was squeaking, salt water in the radiator which was smoking, just disaster. luckily there was a self car wash right around me so i drove there, washed the car and engine. got everything visible off. do you think there will be any problems. it seems normal because i got all the salt water off the engine and brakes, but will the salt eat away the frame or underside of the car?

You probably got much less salt on there than people who live in the "rust belt" with many salted roads. As long as you didn't hydrolock, your air filter and belt are ok, as well as your brakes, I wouldn't worry about it.

Check your tranny fluid condition though just to make sure it's not contaminated. If you're feeling really ambitious, you could also check your diff fluid.

the tranny is shifting fine, i just had it flushed actually. also i changed the diff. fluid when the tranny was done. i used this engine cleaner **** to clean the engine out and i washed the brakes off too.
