Well if you have a '92 then you don't have true duals stock. The only thing i could think of is that they would hit something while running out the back...but I'm not sure.

any competant shop can put on a dual outlet muffler and some 3" ips.... buts duals arent the best for your engine powerwise..... a good muffler with a single exit with either 2.25" or 2.5" will be good for your engine....

if they say they can't do it.. then they are rather unskilled. I had a very small shop here do my duals with very little problems. As they have said, its rather unhealthy to have 2 large tips on the back of a 6 cyl. so what you could do is either get a single in dual out muffler, or get a single in/out muffler and do a Y pipe after the muffler to the dual pipes.

so a single in/dual out flowmaster muffler will fit with then run 2.5" pipes with 3" crome tips will work

yes, single in dual out or single in/out with a Y pipe afterwards should work. I dont know if a Y pipe would really fit back there, but, with a stock sizesd spare under a 95-97 I KNOW will fit (single in dual out) and theres only been sublte changes to that area from the square bodys so.. yea

i have duals on my X if you wanna see i have pics... i dropped out the spare tire... being i have 35's and its no use.... can be done... but i wouldnt go any bigger than 2 1/4 inch.... due to clearance....
