I would also like to know. I believe you will lose torque, I think it goes, loss of backpressure = loss of torque. No idea really though. Troll has a neat dual setup, I like his first that had both pipes coming out the rear passenger side.
HOLD THE PHONE>>> I had Dual Exhaust put on my X and its AWSOME!!! I used a Flowmaster 50 Series SUV type with dual inlet and dual outlet and the guy was able to run dual exhaust even with the spare tire still there.... Check out my pics!!!
I'm running dual out. Then again I also am running a turbo, and running duals helps immensly. And it makes it sound kinda cool, only complaint that I have (i only got to drive my explorer for 1 day with the dual exhuast on, before i bent the rod on the trip) It made my car shake when it was idling. But even still the cool sound makes up for that small annoyance.
Wow this has been a popular subject. There's a lil button that says "Search" on it. It can be VERY useful!! Check out 98FordX24. He's got pics of his routing. Sorry, If I'm refering too many people to ya 24!
If i can get a hold of a camera i can take pics, but look at Chris' (http://community.webshots.com/album/44004062PLwZNt) Mine are routed just like his, but my tips come straight back, and not down at an angle
I look forward to seeing the pics.
The one on the link you posted is not a Sport though.
I probabally shouldn't even be pursuing this. My exhaust is already done and I can not financially justify ordering a dual out when the current single out is like six months old.
I'll just fusterate my self.
I've got a 5.0L Mounty and I'm considering having custom duals put on. By the looks of it their are already duals back to the stock muffler, then a single out.
Does anyone know if their is room for two mufflers side by side if they are rotated 90* and set side by side?
It seems that would be the best way to go with the V8 just wondering if anyone has attempted that before. Also it seemed their were multiple little 'pods' on each exhaust line before the muffler, I figured their would be a Cat on each line but it seemed their were two of these on each line.
Anyway thanks for any help and the pics posted above help clear up the routing question the the 4 doors anyway.
