Ok..I have that cool lookin' Duff prerunner bumper, which I thought would be just fantastic since it has light tabs and its advertised as being made to fit a set of PIAA 1500s (or smaller) fog/driving lights between the lower tubes. Wrong.

I was hoping to get PIAA 980s being they're the same size as the 1500 series, but now I find they won't even come close to fitting! The 980s and 1500s are about 2 1/4" high..and the tubes are only 1 1/2" apart!!! Even the 1400s wont fit!! :fire:

I found some Pilots at AutoZone that looked like they would fit..(a steal at $19.95). Wrong again. They're like 1/8" too big.

Now it seems I'm reduced to using the ultra-mini version of aftermarket lights, which I doubt will cast enough light to be worth putting them on. I realize I could just mount whatever and have it shine through the tubes, but I think that would not only look stupid, it would also be almost worthless as most of the light would be blocked by the bumper.

I'd like to find a rectangular light thats about 4"W x 1.5"H, with a clear fog lens. Any ideas?

Note to Matt: Tell PIAA to make more small lights.

Hey they already do make lots of small lights, LOL. ALthough if its too small for the 1400's then you won't find many aftermarket lights that fit. Perhaps the PIAA 002 or 004's would fit in that spot?

nuh-uh

Nope. The 002's, 004's and 1100's are about 2" overall, plus they're driving lights. I do think a projector beam would work for the application if thats what I wanted, since it could just be aimed through the tubes, but I really wanted a fog beam pattern to use with the low beams, and having them mounted even a bit behind the tubes cuts off half the beam.

I'm just sort of surprised the cheaper light companies have all these ultra small lights and PIAA doesn't. I'm available for design input and prototype testing! :D

I'm thinking I'll go with some small ones for now, and when I find something that works perfectly, I'll switch the small ones to the rear for backup lights.
