Me and a few mechanics from the shop went ahead and started unbolting stuff and didn't really read any of the instructions. When we got to the ebrake, we basically just took it out of the bracket and left it hangin. Well, I have a good amount of slack and can almost get it back into the bracket with the 3" lift. So basically....what did the rest of you all do about this? Is there a bracket that came with the kit thats suppose to fix this problem? I didn't see one. My Explorer is a 2000 XLT 4dr. Thanks everyone.

I've read other posts where a drop bracket is mentioned but only for the 3" kit. I haven't installed a BL, yet, on my truck but have read most of the posts. I plan a 2" BL and it seems the e-brake is not an issue. Perhaps you are missing a bracket (??).

I didnt get one with my 3" body lift. My e-brake cable is still just hangin there.

Do you mean hanging out of the bracket or still in the bracket? I mean the e-brake isn't really that important but I do hate parkin on an incline and feeling the car roll back or forward. It's very unsettling. Some guys at work will probably help me figure out something. Thanks for the help.

I took the e-brake out of the bracket under the drivers door and never could get it back in the bracket.

Yup! Exact same problem. Its not that big of a deal for the moment, but we plan on doing something about it. I will try to get in contact with you once we come up with something so you can try to fix yours. Thanks for your help. Glad to know someone else is in my boat.

Drew, I have the same truck as you, and installed my 3" BL a few weeks ago. I had the same issue during the install, trying to figure out what to do with the ebrake cable, and if it had enough slack to accomodate the lift. I ended up leaving the cable and bracket in place, and found that there was just enough slack. I have no problems with my ebrake. Good luck
