What kind of power would I likely see from installing an E303 cam in my '97 X 5.0 with KKM intake and gibson catback. I also plan on adding roller rockers{maybe the FMS 1.7 ratio ones}. Any input would be great.

1- stay away from 1.7's in an explorer. all they do is shift your power up in the rpm scale and take away from the bottom end.

FYI- FRPP sells what is basically a stock explorer motor with an Ecam and has it rated at 270hp. does the Ecam add 50hp? no. it makes a huge improvement, but not 50hp. one of the biggest restrictions on the explorer engine (when its in the explorer) is the stock 2.25 single catback and the stock airbox. since you have gotten rid of both of these, you are good to go. i very close estimate would be around 260-265hp at the crank.

A little late but James is right. I had 1.7's in my old explorer and the only reason I decided to go with that high a ratio rocker was because I was going to be running a 2800-3000 stall TC along with a centrifugal supercharger and alot of other stuff. But the 1.6's are the best for pretty much everyone doing the cam swap in these heavy trucks.
