As I understand it from Ford's website, the 2006 Explorer is not set up to use E85. Where I live, there is a E85 plant about 30minutes from my home, and many gas stations which have E85 pumps. Currently around here E85 is about at about $2.49 a gallon.
Older models of the Explorer were about to run on E85. I do not understand why this option is not offered. I understand it would cost Ford about $150.00 per engine to make it E85 on the production line.
I guess they figure it is not offered at enough places around the country to make this worth while.
GM seems to to putting it on alot of their vehicles, as is Dodge. Will Ford follow suit?
