I am trying to find the o2 sensor on my 1991 explorer. Any Clues? Also does anyone know if I can modify to 1 exhaust and 1 cat. Coming off of the exmanifold there are 4 pieces, 2 before the muffler and one after.

The o2 sensor on the early first 1st gen is just after the Y pipe. In other words, it is just after the exhaust from the left and right join together.

Some of the Explorers had 2 cats.. Some people have replaced it with a single high flow. There "might" be an issue what that depending on where you live, check with local exhuast shops.

Also, Many explorers had a muffler and a resonator. We removed our resonator when we put on the flowmaster muffler on our '92.
