does anyone have a diagram of where all the earthing points are on the Explorer? It's been suggested that a bad earthing point could be the cause of my christmas tree effect lighting issues..

for those that are state side he is refering to the ground points of the motor to chasis (ie. the back of the enging block to the firewall, etc.)

Did you ever find a diagram showing all the grounds/earths?

what area are you Christmas tree light effects in? There are several ground points on the wiring harness as well as other locations I have some diagrams and will gladly scan and send the correct ones to you.

Right.. the right handside indicators stay on when there's a fuse in place for the right hand side rear light. there's no front right hand side, sidelight..

the only way to get the indicators off is to put the hazards on, which then blows the fuse for the back right hand side light.

when I indicate right, the rear right hand side light comes on and also the clock inside flashes. this happens when the lights are on. when the lights are off, the LH sidelight flashes aswell and all the dashlights come on aswell as the RHS rear light..

You have a short! a wire pinched and bare in your wiring loom! start from the right rear and work back to the switch. Time consuming and a pain I know. Just went thru this with a 35' motorhome.

How could that have happened tho? I'm gonna have to wait till it stops raining as I have no garage to work in.. :D:D
Before I start messing I'll take some video and show you what I mean

It might just be worth taking all the lamps out of the rear cluster and see if the fuse now does not blow. A faulty lamp can cause things like this.

The idea is to test it with no lamps in. This will tell you wether you have a loom issue or a lamp issue. If the other lamps light with no problems then you have a lamp holder or lamp issue.

You could pop to Blackpool and hire it out as part of the illuminations
