I've been looking around eBay for Ford Explorer things. I seem to come acress bulbs a lot, that claim to be the brightest, and whatnot. And the price is only between $10-$30.

My question is has anyone bought them from eBay, and were you disapointed, or did they actually do what they said they would do?

I bought some on ebay. They are Hyper industries I think. They were 80/100 watt. I plugged them in and immediately the top of the bulbs started smoking. Then I started driving around, and one bulb burned out. It would work on high beam though. I hope I just got a crappy pair. For $20 bucks, I'd try it out. But I would recommend not wasting your time or your money and go with PIAA superwhites of the correct wattage. That way, you don't run the risk of frying the wiring (Stock is 45/55 watt I believe), and they are just a better quality bulb.

Here is the link for the ones I have Dead Link Removed . I've had no problems and the bulbs are great. VERY clear and VERY bright. I also bought a pair for my father in laws f-150 and he loves 'em too. The bulbs look blue but the light is a VERY bright white with a very small hint of blue...much brighter and clearer than stock. Think they are Eurolites' maybe...and you can't beat the price.

Stock bulbs are 55/65 I think. Beavis, your problems were definately due to the voltage difference. As long as you stay with the same voltage, you should be fine.

I bought a pair of GE Coolwhites at WalMart a few months ago for $10-$15. I still haven't put them in, but hope they're better than stock.

Alec is most likely correct...I've got headlights rated somewhere around 80/100. I have run a wiring kit and they're great! Though they do have a shorter life span, I may sell out to the Piaa super white platniums...or what ever they may be.
