Hey peeps,

Just had my ebrake cable replaced and now it works great.

But before that, what had happened was that I pulled in to my driveway and applied my foot to the ebrake pedal. After years of pressing down, it wasn't as effective. And yes, I also want to note that the ebrake shoes are only a couple months old. I had to go to the last click to get a safe measure of braking, then snap!

The pedal went well beyond it's intended range of motion and was pretty much tucked underneath the dash, lol.

I got it fixed (at a shop) and now the ebrake light on my dash doesn't illumintate once it's engauged.

The light bulb is fine I am sure. I think it's a sensor or a switch that isn't getting activated once the ebrake is activated.

I know what your thinking, just bring it back and they can sort it out. But, if it's something simple, I would rather do it myself and not deal with the hassle.

Ideas as to what it can be and how to fix it?

(and yea, if not, I will bring it back.)

Thanks

Most plumbers are now registered with the appropriate licensing agency to deal with central heating systems which are powered by oil, natural gas and solid fuel in addition to the delivery systems and of course the sewerage disposal system. Most plumbers work hand in hand with builders, developers and architects to offer a seamless integration of all services.

in case the above post wasn't helpful..... WTF???
there's a little switch (simple ground) for the BRAKE light. when you depress the pedal it's supposed to make the connection and the light comes on. it may be stuck, or bent. mine didn't work and after hitting it with some WD40 and exercising it for a few minutes, it's been working fine ever since. stick your head under the dash and look for it (behind/above the pedal mechanism) and see what the problem is. if it's broken, new ones are available and easy to install.

On my '02 I had the same problem.

I removed the switch and cleaned the contacts with very fine grit sand paper and it has been working for close to 3 years.

On the '02 the ground is switched.

Hope this helps out. :D:thumbsup:

does the light come on when you first turn your key on? It is suppose to as part of a bulb check.

No, it doesn't at all.

I think they nailed it as far as the switch goes, thanks guys. I will have a look...

IF it doesn't light up at all, then it is UNLIKELY... to be the switch, its more than likely the bulb... that's the purpose of the bulb test during key on.... it has nothing to do with the switch.... BUT a meter will tell you for sure what the problem is.

I think that the OP said / indicated that the bulb NEVER lights including during the key on sequence.... not the same problem.
