After having misplaced my 5504 manual, i found it and started reading it. Whats the deal w/ the key cd and the ESN feature?? I bought the car with the deck inside but hte previous owner didnt give me the original key cd. What should i do? also, the manual says that a security light is supposed to blink when the engine is turned off. I tried the steps in the manual but nothing happens. can anyone help. running a search i came across this thread but I am still confused. Thanks.

Haha, I see my thread has been resurrected. If it hasn't been done before, then Eclipse can walk you through a decode process over the phone, and return the unit to factory condition. However, if this has already been done before, it will not work, as it is a one shot deal,(for reasons unknown to me). My advice, call Eclipse, and ask for their advice as well.

I now love my Eclipse, and wouldn't go with anything else, After sending it in they disabled the ESN, and it has worked perfectly thus far.

how did u get a hold of their number?

It was in the manual, on the unit itself, and on the box as well.

opps hehe, didnt look at the fine print on the back cover. thanks.

oh and what about the security indicator? does that option work on ur hu?

The security ESN LED on your unit will only work once a Key CD has been programmed to your unit---once you complete that procedure, you'll see the little ESN light blink every 2-3 seconds when the unit is powered off. That's how it worked for mine---check your manual, but the ESN light is directly related to the Key CD.
