OK, test drove the black Limited this morning as promised. Man, those seats are terrible, LOL. I don't know where he got pictures of his Explorer at, but the vehicle I saw wasn't very clean. Lot's of dings, rust on the roof, scratches all over. Looking into the black looked like a black widow spider made a nest. I had to pass on it for sure. Something in my gut told me this vehicle was an accident looking for a place to happen. It needs a good home, just not mine.

I highly recomend the 5.0, whether it be 2wd or AWD. I love the AWD, but deal with crappy roads, and incompetent road crews. It's also nice when its dry and you want to jump out in front of someone without that time robbing wheelspin caused by cinders, and gravel in the roads. I'll likey own another Explorer/Mounty after this one, and it will definately be a 5.0.(well, maybe the 4.6)

The purple one in Question above is very very nice. The I see that the 98's didnt have the wood paneled doors and didnt have the air bag in the front seats.

You will get used to the Limited seats, but they really arent as cozy as the Eddie Bauer seats. I think it is due to the heater element in the seat cushion.

You know you will need to bring that Purple Explorer Limited to Dallas if you buy it

Well DoctorV8 was nice enough to come over yesterday, Saturday and let me look at it and test drive it. I felt 100% confident in this Explorer. Still don't like the Limited seats though and this one does not have the heated seats. But this is a real nice Explorer. Now I have got to get it all togeather quickly and try and get this Explorer. It needs to be in MY garage looking pretty with several coats of Carnuba wax.

Looks like an awsome truck. I'm a big fan of purple cars, but that one isn't bad. I think that the uncomfortable seats is due to them being so flat. You'll learn to love the AWD. I don't think I'd buy one w/o it after having mine.
